Over the past few weeks my group and I have finished making t-shirts and selling them. Now we have to donate the money to the animal shelter. The last thing that we have to before the school year ends is go to the animal shelter to donate the money that we raised. I just started my reflection and I do think that I will meet the the deadlines for our project because we already have a set date for when we want to go to the animal shelter.

With the help and support of our friends and family, our group sold almost 50 shirts and raised about $350! At first, we didn't think that we would raise as much as we did. We sold to close friends and then more people found out about them and our project. The amount of money we raised and shirts we sold are both proof of how we impacted others. The money will be used to buy supplies for the animal shelter and we will donate the money that we didn't use for the supplies.
The 3-D printer doesn't have much to do with my project, but the way it was presented does. Mr. Cowen came into our class to present his project, the 3-D printer. And it wasn't any ordinary presentation that we do in school; where we do research, write how we want our speech to go and then memorize it. He gave a TED talk. A TED talk is a "powerful" talk, usually devoted to spreading ideas. His TED talk was meant to give our class an idea of how we want to present our idea.
John Cloud defined a genius as someone who has the intelligence and endurance to acquire in a broadly valued domain of achievement.
The "Genius Hour" article showed me that it's okay if your plans don't always the way you want them to, or if they even fail. Accepting it makes us learn from our mistakes, and it allows students to push forward and take risks. Having genius hour is also a learning opportunity. It lets student learn efficiently with something that they may be passionate about or have a lot of interest in.
I have a few goals that I want to accomplish within the next three months. I want to sell T-shirts and bracelets to students at school and donate the money to the animal shelter, and if all goes well, I would like to sell more T-shirts to the community. I would also like to have an event where we talk about the animal shelter and how we want to help them out. Then hopefully we get people to adopt some of the animals there!
